SCREENPLAYS - By David Taylor:

Writing screenplays is great fun. You should have a go - it does get pretty technical when you want to get up to a standard to sell one. The good news is, lots of people will help you fix your first draft. I was fortunate to sell/option my first completed one called STACEY'S FACE (See Below). The advice I got at the time was invaluable - "Watch and analyze 500 movies, read a few 'How To..' screenwriiting books, and create a body of screenplay works in a number of different genres." After I sold/optioned my first one, I got three commissions from movie companies, four from movie development teams, and have helped a lot of people develop their screenplays and stories. The main list of my full length movie feature screenplay works is below. There are more. It can take a long time from script to screen - ten years for example, but it's still great fun.

STACEY'S FACE

A comic-tragedy about Stacey, a fashion and free-style seeking twelve year old girl, her friends, her divorced degenerate Mother, and her opportunistic little Brother - in the absence of their Dad. In their menagerie of a household, we assume the cycle of degeneration will definitely pass from Mother to Daughter, but the ingenious and determined little Brother has other ideas.

Sophie makes her own unique stand against hatred and bigotry. - ‘It’s Your Turn to Run’.

I read a book called 'Playing for Time', written by a woman called Fania Fenelone. I fell in love with her from the book. She was a French pianist, composer and cabaret singer. Fania survived the Nazi Holocaust of 1939-45 World War Two. I then read another book by an evil man called Rudolph Hoss who was the architect of, and Commandant of, Auschwitz/Birkenau Concentration Camp where Fania was imprisoned. Hoss wrote his book before he was hanged for war crimes at Nuremberg in 1946. In her book, Fania says  something like 'Only a woman (women), can make sure this never happens again'. I decided that modern journalist 'Sophie Frei' was that woman. I love this story, and would love to have met Fania before she died in 1983. I am also glad they let evil Hoss write his book, and then they hanged him.
